Paulo Pereira Cristovao, former vice president of Sporting, was arrested this morning by the National Counterterrorism Unit of the Judicial Police for armed robbery in Greater Lisbon, kidnapping and criminal association, found the Morning Post.

The PJ arrested three men, aged between 37 and 49 years, criminal suspected of association, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, theft functions, abuse of power and possession of prohibited weapons. One of those arrested is the former Inspector of Judicial Police and former vice president of Sporting Paulo Pereira Cristovao.


In a statement, PJ explains that arrested, on Tuesday, three men, aged between 37 and 49 years, criminal suspected of association, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, theft functions, abuse of power and possession of prohibited weapons.


One of those arrested is Paulo Pereira Cristovao, suspected of "provide useful information to the material authors" of robbery and kidnapping crimes in the Lisbon area and Setúbal, police source told Lusa.

According to the source, the former PJ inspector and former vice president of Sporting provided "useful information about the victims," ​​the criminal organization to which he belonged, being one of the "mentors" of robberies and kidnappings carried out by the group.
