The story so far:
[Article filed 17 April 2010]
On 7 April 2010, we published on our website an article about the strange role of
Mr Marcos Aragão Correia in the case of Madeleine McCann. As a poster called
‘kitti’ correctly pointed out on the ‘Missing Madeleine’ Forum this week, the
article was no more than a compilation of articles about him that have appeared
in newspapers, on TV or on the internet. Very often in the article we quoted his
actual words, admittedly mostly translated from the original Portuguese.
On 8 April, the very next day, we received an e-mail from him claiming that our
article was ‘defamatory’. We reproduce this again at the end of this article.
On that day, we had a high total of 4,249 ‘hits’ on our website and it’s apparent
that interest in our original article on Mr Correia remains high.
We replied to that on 10 April, our reply is also below.
A week later, 17 April, we have heard nothing further from him.

Does he think a libel action can be thrown together overnight? These things take time, and time is something has in short supply, even if he doesn't yet realise it himself.

You are so right Tinks, Bennett can goad all he likes, we are not Debbie Butler and more to the point Marcos is NOT Debbie Butler, we will not be telling him anything. If Bennett wants to know something he can always ask this"Kitty" he mentions, whoever the hell "Kitty" is? If Bennett thinks this Kitty is correct, then perhaps Bennett should take legal advice from a poster called "Kitty" and ask her why Marcos hasn't bothered to answer him?
He may as well ask Kitty, because he will not be getting a reply from Marcos or us just yet! If he thinks he can wind Marcos up, he has totally underestimated Marcos, but then all of us who actually know Marcos, knew immediately he wrote that ridiculous long libellous rant, that he had grossly underestimated Marcos. Bennett was given a chance to remove that libellous clap trap from his site and he did not take it, now it is obvious that he is getting jittery and worried and the silence is getting to him.I might remind Bennett that Marcos managed to get Amaral convicted, a lightweight could not have managed this, so all we will say to Bennett is - think on!
If Bennett wants to hear from Marcos, instead of writing ridiculous long verbose posts on obscure websites, he should contact the man himself, he has his email address.

I think bennett's time has come to stop acting like he is some Mr Big. He isn't. He never has been. He never will be.
Anyone backing him is like backing a 3 legged blind donkey in the Grand National.
I certainly wouldn't put all my faith in bennett, or even any faith.

The 'pro' forums, a few weeks back, were licking their lips at the prospect of Marcos Aragao Correia bringing some kind of swift legal action against The Madeleine Foundation. One of them even claimed s/he 'worshipped' Marcos Correia while others compared him favourably to Goncalo Amaral pointing out that Correia had won and Amaral lost.
Well, since then, there has not been a squeak, nor a correction, still less threats of any legal action from Mr Correia i.e. since we last wrote to him.
It follows therefore that everything in the article we wrote about him must stand as true and correct in every detail - until such time as we are given proof that anything we said in that article was inaccurate.
It must be remembered, too, that our article suggested that Marcos Correia had in effect acted in collusion with the McCanns and their public relations and legal advisers for a long time, certainly in relation to the Arade Dam searches in January and March 2008 and his lies about being told by 'underworld' sources about the rape and killing of Madeleine.
We shall shortly send him a reminder to offer him a final opportunity to correct anything he says we have got wrong about him in our article.

I think you'll find Marcos will take legal action at a time of HIS choosing, NOT yours. Remember, because we all do, how you feared no legal action from the McCanns, and even sent a copy of your libelous book to their team, with the offer to make any corrections. We all know how THAT turned out, don't we!

How many times must Bennett be told, that it is up to him to ensure that what he writes it true. Marcos has already told him that his 'article' had errors in it. That is enough. Just because Marcos has taken no action doesnt mean that he is not going to take action, or that what Bennett has written is true.
Didnt he learn anything from sending that disgusting pamplet to the McCanns? Their silence did not indicate their approval. Same with Marcos.
Only a moron would make the exact same mistake a second time.

What he is actually saying is that because he hasn't heard anything, he can therefore assume he is safe.
He isn't.
He is also rounding up support by announcing he hasn't heard anything...he is seeking reassurance from his 'followers' that they will stand by him as what he is saying and doing must be right!
Of course they will, that is until the sh*t hits the fan big time, then we'll shall see how long his 'followers' hang around then.
My guess is about 10 minutes max and I am being generous!

His last little escapade cost his followers £400. Why should he bother if other people are paying?
He winds them all up to believe that he is being victimised, and they put their hands in their pockets. A lot of his s### is directed at keeping them donating

I wish they would part Bennett from some of his own money. It hasn't cost him anything yet. The Foundation even paid Kirwan's. So at least £900 has been paid out by other people. Donations used to pay Legal Fees. The sheer hypocrisy is mind blowing.
