Apparently the McCann's have withdrawn their application in the High Court as Leicestershire police have agreed to hand over 81 pieces of information.

Let's hope that this info helps to put the SEARCH for Madeleine back on track, until the Portuguese authorities get their finger out, release them from their arguido status and let them see the files and view all the information on record.

This investigation stalled on the 4th May 2007, it is high time it was turned over to professionally capable detectives to try and investigate and discover the whereabouts of Madeleine.

It is unforgivable that this child may still be alive somewhere and nothing has been done by the PJ to find her.

Mrs Justice Hogg Appeal To Madeleine's Abductor/s Empty Court Action Withdrawn...

Post by calcite51 Mon Jul 07, 2008 10:52 pm

Yes, Rosie, let's hope the information the McCanns obtained can help them find Madeleine. I am disturbed however, that the Leicestershire police waited until the 11th hour to compromise (I'm pretty sure it was Portugal's decision) - it tells me the PJ's are still busy trying to look powerful and can not be compassionate towards this heartbroken couple. When I hear that Kate was crying two weeks ago to a witness begging them to give the information that he have given to the police to their private investigators, I am totally devastated.

Mrs Justice Hogg Appeal To Madeleine's Abductor/s Empty Court action

Post by tulip Mon Jul 07, 2008 11:08 pm

Sky News has a quote from Mrs Justice Hogg about this matter -- compassionate, understanding and very well expressed. It must help the McCanns to know that someone of her stature is ready to nail her colours to the mast. How much more sympathy is lurking behind the official positions I wonder? Plenty, I bet.

But I too wonder why the Leics. police took it to the wire -- maybe checking their legal position in the face of their 'pact' with the PJ?

As for the guy who refused to help Kate on the phone, I don't know the reason ('doesn't want to be involved any further' probably) but what a twerp.

Yes, I heard that she had given a very compassionate answer and it was because of compassion that she had not ordered Kate and Gerry to attend this session. So, my hat goes off to the Judge. Of course, this compassionate is now being discussed on Vile's blog.

Me too Calcite, how much more is this poor woman to be put through?

I can sort of understand why this person did not want to get involved further, after all he has probably witnessed the likes of what happens to witnesses that come forward on hate blogs like the snot green psycho blog from hell and in the pig ignorant Portuguese press and on blogs like the wannbe journalist and has been Paulo Reis.

I would ask him though Man or mouse? If I had information I thought would help the McCann's locate Madeleine, I would not have to be begged for it, I would be taking it to their doorstep and I would make sure they had it, that child would come before my feelings about the likes of Viv and co!

I think there was a reason why the Leicestershire police went to the wire, let's face it, if they really did not want to allow the McCann's this information, they would be in the court room fighting against it.

Mrs Justice Hogg Appeal To Madeleine's Abductor/s Empty Support

Post by Guest Tue Jul 08, 2008 2:59 am

I am convinced from the way that this has not been contested in Court by the Police and the tone of the Judge's statement, that there is widespread support, from UK authorities, for the Mccanns.
The media is supportive and since when did our press lie down, when there was a good tale to be written ?
I sincerely believe, that the only time, the UK population ever wavered, momentarily, was when the PK leaked lies, overstating the forensic evidence.
Nobody has any respect for the Portugese Police and only a few cranks, in this country, find the parents involved in the disappearance of Madeleine.
Soon, all the evidence {if any ] will need to be put on the table and there will be nowhere for the PJ to hide.

Mrs Justice Hogg Appeal To Madeleine's Abductor/s Empty Maddie

Post by Mandz Tue Jul 08, 2008 4:38 am

Well at least they got something out of it which might help? This judge appears to be acting on Maddie behalf unlike Portugal’s end in my opinion. They have not charged anyone with this crime therefore why are they not supporting other agencies who might find her? This might help solve the case? Surely they want this girl found and an ending? The person that is suffering is Maddie and the information is vital and withholding this is a crime in my opinion. Why do they not hold their hands up and admit they are no further forward because there is a little girl’s life at stake here. Surely this is more important than there reputation??

Melbel, I agree with your comments, I feel this is just the start of the information that is now starting to come out.

I feel that the Leicestershire police also did this to teach the PJ a lesson, they are clearly saying, "look we do not leak things, if there is something that someone needs to know then it will go through the correct channels."

Unlike the PJ, whose behaviour has been nothing short of atrocious and completely unprofessional.

The PJ should learn to zip it zipit zipit zipit and do things properly and professionally.

How compassionate of Mrs Justice Hogg to not request the McCanns attend the hearing but instead to acknowledge that the McCanns have suffered enough.

I'm so glad a compromise has been reached with Leicestershire Police. Clarence once caused controversy by saying the authorities didnt believe Kate & Gerry were guilty and I think this handing over of 81 files is further confirmation of that.

Lets hope that breakthrough they so desperately need is contained somewhere within these files.

Exactly, this judge would not have said the things she said if she thought the McCann's were guilty. Rather puts Vile's imaginary law credentials in the bin along with her doesn't it? vileingarbage I understand she is over there on the snot green psycho blog from hell, trying to discredit Mrs Justice Hogg! I read on 3A's that they have a link between the judge and the McCanns. I could have saved them the time and energy. They do share distant relations...........Adam and Eve.

I thought what the judge said was very heartwarming and could have been written by any supporter which adds credance to the fact that common sense will will the day and not exploiting Madeleines name, disguised as a quest to justice on her behalf, to harvest hate.

Mrs Justice Hogg Appeal To Madeleine's Abductor/s Empty Hi Mod

Absolutely!

Does it surprise you that they have tried to find a link between the judge and the McCann's? I would be surprised if that load of numpties didn't!
They are like a lot of headless chickens, all running around in circles! The fact that they have come up with this ridiculous fantasy connection, is because what the judge said worried them, it is so not what they want to hear!

Someone in authority has come out and said this and it just doesn't fit in with what they want to believe, so therefor on their pea brains, there must be a reason why, it could not possibly be that the judge (who knows what she is talking about) knows these parents are innocent, knows they have been made to suffer beyond endurance, it must be because they are connected in some way, i would not even worry about them, they along with the psycho's are just a lot of wholly inadequate people, with wholly inadequate lives, with wholly inadequate personalities.

They're so predictable! Mod was keeping me updated by text at work, and as soon as he told me the judge had made a sympathetic speach for the McCann's, I said they'll be Googling her name next. 10 mins later, he texted me again, and that's just what they had done! They just can't accept that it's possible to support the McCann's without being paid by them, related to them or blackmailed by them! Roll on when the arguido status is lifted, then the whole lot of 'em will have kittens! Great big blue kittens!!

Mrs Justice Hogg Appeal To Madeleine's Abductor/s Empty Mrs Justice Hogg Appeal To Madeleine's Abductor/s

Post by Rosie Fri Apr 03, 2009 3:33 am

A High Court judge yesterday begged Madeleine McCann's abductor to 'show mercy and come forward'.
In an astonishing plea, Mrs Justice Hogg called for an end to Kate and Gerry McCann's 14 months of suffering and said she prayed Madeleine would be found alive soon.
The judge gave the couple fresh hope in the hunt for their missing daughter by ordering the police to hand over a dossier containing the details of 81 potential witnesses.
She said Leicestershire Police should pass on information about those who had tried to contact the McCanns in the immediate aftermath of their daughter's disappearance in Portugal days before her fourth birthday.
In an impassioned speech, given as part of her ruling, the judge pleaded with other witnesses to come forward to end the mystery surrounding Madeleine's disappearance on May 3 last year from the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz.
'There is, of course, at least one person who knows what has happened to Madeleine, and where she may be found,' she said.

'I ponder about that person, whether that person has a heart and can understand what it must be like for Madeleine to have been torn and secreted from her parents and siblings whom she loves and felt secure with, and whom no doubt (she) misses and grieves for.
'Whether that person has a conscience or any feeling of guilt, remorse or even cares about the hurt which has been caused to an innocent little girl, whether that person has a faith and belief, and what explanation or justification that person will give to God.
'I entreat that person, whoever and wherever you may be, to show mercy and compassion and come forward now to tell us where Madeleine is to be found.
'I hope and pray that Madeleine will be found very soon, alive and well.'
Mrs Justice Hogg's plea was made all the more extraordinary by the fact that the McCanns, both 40, remain official suspects in the case.
But there is growing confidence that their arguido status will be lifted soon, as the Portuguese police investigation is expected to be formally completed within weeks.
The couple, both doctors from Rothley, Leicestershire, did not attend the hearing at the High Court in London as they are on holiday with their twins Sean and Amelie - their first holiday since Madeleine's disappearance.
The 61-year-old judge said she had told their lawyers they did not have to attend court. 'They have suffered enough, and I wished to ease their burden,' she said. 'They have behaved responsibly and reasonably throughout.'
The judge's unequivocal support for the McCanns is likely to attract criticism in Portugal, where there has been resentment over perceived interference in the case by the British Government.

Mr and Mrs McCann won support from the Prime Minister and the Foreign Secretary David Miliband in the aftermath of Madeleine's disappearance, although all direct contact with the couple stopped after they were named as official suspects.
Their spokesman Clarence Mitchell said they were 'strengthened and touched' by the judge's words.
He said the couple's private detectives would examine the new information from Leicestershire Police, adding: 'It only takes one piece of information that could lead us to Madeleine.'
The couple had asked the court to order the police force to hand over every scrap of information relating to their daughter's disappearance.
Leicestershire Police refused to do so, arguing that it should not be forced to reveal details of investigations, but agreed to hand over details of the 81 witnesses who had attempted to contact the McCanns directly.
Tim Scott QC, for the McCanns, said the couple expected to have access to more information in Portugal when the case there is formally closed.
Mrs Justice Hogg, a mother of two, is the daughter of the former Lord Chancellor, Lord Hailsham, and the sister of former Agriculture Minister Douglas Hogg
