We have made this a category on its own because we feel it deserves one, especially as this disgraced former detective is hell bent on making as much money as he possibly can out missing Madeleine McCann, a child that we believe he failed 'abysmally'.

There is much to be revealed about this man and his actions, which made Kate and Gerry McCann formal suspects in the case of their missing abducted daughter Madeleine.

Not a lot of it adds up, but what the evidence which is laying around all over the place indicates, is something is very, very wrong and something went very, very wrong with the investigation.

In all normal countries this kind of issue would have been dealt with by the government ordering an independent public inquiry int the detective's handling of the case, but nothing was ever done about it and the sometimes glaring inconsistencies and errors were just left and as a result, the characters of two totally innocent people were allowed to be tarnished and blackened and the biggest travesty of justice was, that one small innocent little girl was badly let down and failed.

Since Goncalo Amaral was dismissed from the investigation and demoted from his position of 'police chief' in Portimao, Portugal, he has left the Policia Judiciaria, taking early retirement.

The most startling news since then is of course he appeared on trial over charges of torture on Leonor Cipriano the mother of another missing child, Joana Cipriano, this is another Amaral investigation and another case where the child has never been found. Amaral has since faced trial over Leonor's torture and found guilty of lying, perjury and concealing evidence of her torture, he received an 18 month suspended prison sentence, so in fact Goncalo Amaral is a convicted liar, perjurer and criminal.

Amaral has also been making himself into a millionaire off of the back of missing abducted Madeleine McCann.

Amaral has:

Written books
Writes a column for the Portuguese newspaper Correo de Manha
Has give paid newspaper interviews
Has given paid magazine interviews
Has been paid to appear on TV
Paid to give radio interviews
Paid to appear in a "documentary" about Madeleine on Portuguese TV
Sold the rights of his book to TV1 for an undisclosed sum said to run into 6 figures
Is just bringing out another book accusing Britain of gagging him
Using his Madeleine "infamy" has cashed in a written another book
Employs an agent to procure him more work
Tried to get Sky News to pay him £80.000 for one interview (they declined)

Kate and Gerry McCann are also suing Goncalo Amaral for £1.2 million for defamation of character and for impeding the search for their daughter Madeleine.

Also Goncalo Amaral has been embroiled in further controversy, which is just beginning to leak out of Portugal.

What kind of immature fool has his ear pierced on his 50th birthday just because his "Lady Bitch" tells him to?
Would he drive himself of a cliff in his brand new top of the range Jaguar (costing around £50.000) if the "Lady Bitch" told him to?

If he had just gone away, he'd just be a failed, if not incompetent police officer. But seeking to profit from own's one mistakes is just sheer arrogance.

me to Rosie....but i believe sometimes people can actually convince themselves that what they believe is the actual truth.I guess they do that because they feel they have to...through fear maybe(of getting caught out??)

In goncs case...and others like him i would imagine the reason they consistently do and say the things they do is because they have to....the only other thing to do would be to admit they are wrong.And that isn't something people like him like doing.

Gonc as convinced himself that some day somehow he will dig up a whole lot of s### on the mccanns that will help prove what he is saying.And so he continues to go down that road because he cant face the alternative....being a liar!!

He wont stop until hes stopped.And a classic example is his books...the first one blatantly telling how he believes the mccanns are guilty,a detailed description of what he believes.....then when they ban it a book pops up that's already been prepared called..the english gag.
So he knows dam well that hes saying wrong before he even begins and that someone will try to correct him when he as revealed his nonsense.

Perhaps his next book should be called ''hang man slacked your noose'' Because slowly hes hanging himself here.

Its painfully embarrassing to watch!!! lol but i am enjoying the show.Ive never watched a person hang themselves this way in front of the entire world before.

Madeleine: New police chief's fury over the mess he inherited from his predecessor

Paulo Rebelo, the new police chief leading the Madeleine McCann
investigation, is furious at how it was left in disarray by his
predecessor.
According to reports, officers have spent the past fortnight
processing information left lying around on scraps of paper and
following leads ignored by police working under Chief Inspector
Goncalo Amaral.
Following Amaral's removal after he criticised British police,
Rebelo, one of Portugal's national deputy police chiefs, is
reviewing the whole forensic investigation because of earlier
procedural errors.

Top Portuguese cop Paulo Rebelo is said to be furious with the
messy Madeleine investigation he has inherited

Local sources believe this will lead to further tests on the
holiday apartment and hire car used by Madeleine's parents, Gerry
and Kate McCann. British sources are doubtful this would yield
anything new, especially given the length of time that has
elapsed.
Meanwhile, a police source quoted in a Portuguese newspaper
said: "There was important material lying all over the place that
hadn't been considered by investigators.
"A lot of key information was discarded. The whole process is
being reviewed. Putting all the papers in order has been a massive
task."
Officers have been working round-the-clock to log on to a
computer all information relating to the disappearance of
four-year-old Madeleine from the holiday complex in May.

However, the number of officers involved in the case has also
been cut from 100 to about 40. Local press reports suggest that
Rebelo's men were growing more sceptical about Madeleine being
kidnapped.
Rebelo, previously involved in investigating a Lisbon paedophile
ring, has placed his faith in Antonio Teixeira, a 59-year-old
murder squad detective with more than 30 years' experience.
Two months ago he was involved in the hunt for the killer of a
77-year-old British woman who disappeared from a popular beach
resort in Sintra near Lisbon.
A neighbour was arrested the day after the alarm was raised.
In a rare interview recently, Teixeira claimed: "Homicide is a
crime we're all capable of committing." A colleague said: "By
bringing him onto the case, the police are sending out a clear sign
that the main lead as far as they concerned is homicide.
"You don't invest effort in that sort of hypothesis with just
the slight suspicion a violent crime has taken place. Antonio is a
breath of fresh air for this investigation. If he has to choose
between the direct route and a more roundabout one, he chooses the
first to resolve a crime.
"And he always gets it right."
Gerry and Kate McCann strenuously deny that they have anything
to do with Madeleine's death or disappearance.

Do they do any real police work? It sounds like the more arrogant and tough you are, the more you get promoted and admired. He always gets it right? Come on.
