AGE SNAPS HELP FIND 900 KIDS
Missing-child expert Ernie Allen says he has helped find 900 children using age-updated images similar to the one of Madeleine McCann.
And every single one of these children had been missing for more than two years — just like Maddy.
Allen is advising the McCanns in his capacity as president of the Washington-based National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the US.
He says using updated images of missing children is an incredibly successful way of finding them.
And he holds out hope for the couple in the future by insisting that children missing for even five or 10 years are still “recoverable”. He explained: “When we started this 10 years ago, the
goal was to use technology to keep these cases alive, to provide new hope for parents and new leads for law enforcement.
“We said at the time, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we could actually find one of these kids?
“And we did, we found 900 of them.”
