Steven Cook: January 10th marked the 25th birthday of Steven Cook. Steven went missing in Crete, Greece on the 1st September 2005. A singer / songwriter friend of the family, Adam Thornhill, produced a song to commemorate the event. The song was used for a birthday video for Steven, which can be seen at Youtube: Steven´s Birthday Video. We are also delighted to announce that Adam will be performing his song live at our International Missing Children´s Day gala dinner in May - more information on that to follow. You can view Adam´s (aka Prad) newly created MySpace site: Prad Music. For more information contact Forever Searching.

1000 Days - Madeleine McCann: 27th January 2010 marked the 1000th day of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. To mark the day, lanterns were being let off into the night sky across the UK and Portugal. Forever Searching had lanterns by 3 of their members in different locations.

The occasion also inspired award winning writer Simon Armitage to write the following poem:

The Beacon:
"Dusk, doubt, the growing depth of an evening sky, dark setting in as it did that night, the forever vastness of outer space reflecting the emptiness here inside, shadowing, colouring, clouding the mind.
But somewhere out there, there has to be life, the distance only a matter of time, a world like our own, its markings and shades as uniquely formed as a daughter´s eye, distinctly flecked, undeniably hers, looking back this way through the miles and years to a lantern cupping a golden blaze, its candle alive with a fierce blonde flame for the thousandth time, for as long as it takes".

Marie: Generally it is the families of the missing that we work with, families searching for answers to the disappearance of their loved ones, so Marie´s case was unusual for us, but every bit as important. Marie is the adult survivor of abduction who is trying to find the family she was stolen from in the 1960´s. Her abduction took place before the creation of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and at a time where there were no centralised computer systems and none of the regulations we now have in place. Marie´s case is active with the police and registered with the National Center. If you are aware of any unsolved abductions in the 1960´s, then please do let us know. Marie is desperate to find her way home, and likewise, it is a story of hope, that like Jaycee Dugard, hope is always there and we should never give up on a miracle. You can see the full background of Marie´s story at: Do You Know Who I Am? For more information contact Forever Searching.

Daniel Morcombe: Saturday 6th March see´s the annual Dance For Daniel event on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. You can see details of the event at: Dance for Daniel (for more information contact Forever Searching). It is believed that Daniel was abducted from an unofficial bus stop under the Kiel Mountain Road overpass in the Woombye district of the Sunshine Coast (approximately 2km north of The Big Pineapple) on Sunday, 7 December 2003. Daniel was meant to catch th 1:35 pm bus to the Sunshine Plaza Shopping Centre for a haircut and to buy Christmas presents for his family but he failed to return. Eyewitnesses reported seeing him at approximately 2:10 pm on the Nambour-Connection Road under the Kiel Mountain Road overpass. The bus he was supposed to catch had broken down a few miles before his stop, and was behind schedule. When a replacement bus eventually arrived, Daniel hailed the bus but it carried on without stopping due to its delay and the fact that this stop was only an unofficial request stop. The driver of the bus radioed the depot for another bus to go and pick up Daniel. The bus driver and other witnesses later reported seeing a man standing close to Daniel at the time. When the second bus came, a couple of minutes later, Daniel and the man had both gone. A blue car, similar to an early 1980´s Toyota Corolla with yellow New South Wales license plates, is believed to have been used by the abductor (s). Daniel was in possesion of a distinctive fob style pocket watch with "Dan" engraved on it.

Phillip Dillon: Phillip Dillon, of Leicester, was last seen by a friend at about 3am on Saturday 20th February as they walked home from a pub in the city. They walked together to Western Boulevard where they parted ways and both walked home. Philip hasn´t been seen since. He was reported missing to police the following day (Sunday February 21) at 3.25pm by a friend. Phillip is described as white, about 5´7" tall, of slim build with short brown hair. At the time he went missing he was wearing blue jeans, a red t-shirt, a black beanie hat and a blue or black long sleeved hooded jacket. Police and Phillip´s family and friends are very concerned as he has never gone missing before and it is very out of character for him not to keep in touch. Friends and family are appealing for Phillip to contact them to let them know is okay. If you have seen anyone matching Phillip´s description, police are urging you to contact them on 0116 222 22 22 extension 6817. For more information, contact Forever Searching.

Thanks for posting this, Pedro. That older case in particular is very heartbreaking and interesting.
