Mr Johnson
I have followed the case of Madeleine McCann since she was abducted on 3 May 2007 and now feel that it is time that the UK Government stopped 'pussyfooting' around and did something productive to help her parents find her. I believe that she is still alive and 'findable' and would request that you instruct the services of the specialist team who are based at Scotland Yard to take over the case. Madeleine's parents have been through hell and back and are doing everything they can to find their precious daughter. This latest campaign headed by Jim Gamble of CEOP is the most hard hitting yet, and by all accounts has had a massive response, which the McCanns and their two private detectives cannot possibly cope with alone. Despite all of this the Portuguese police still refuse to re-open the case. They have mishandled the case right from day one, and the lead detective is charged with various offences in another case which is eerily similar to that of the abduction of Madeleine. The McCanns will never stop looking for her, and I'm sure that if you were in their position you would do the same. It has been two and three quarter long years now since they have been able to touch, hug and love their little girl. SHE IS A BRITISH CITIZEN AND A MINOR AND SHOULD BE GIVEN THE SPECIALIST ATTENTION FROM THIS COUNTRY THAT SHE DESERVES. INSTRUCT SCOTLAND YARD AND LETS BRING HER HOME.

Jean, I think this is an excellent email, thank you.

Come on people let's do this.

We can send the same email to Alan Johnson AND to the Commonwealth Office. I believe that ultimately the decision to ask Scotland Yard to take over the investigation for Madeleine, lays with Alan Johnson and I will be emailing him to this effect later today. In fact I am going to request that they explain the procedure and who can authorise an investigation by the team at Scotland Yard.

We are NOT going to allow them to pass the buck, we are going to MAKE them do something, Madeleine is a BRITISH SUBJECT AND SHE IS A MINOR AND SOMETHING MUST BE DONE BY THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT TO HELP FIND HER.

We can do this, yes we can!

Done:

I am writing to you to ask that you use your powers in
enlisting Scotland Yard or our Special Services to get
involved in the case of Madeleine McCann.

Madeleine Beth McCann is a British Citizen who disappeared
aged 3 whilst on holiday in Praia Da Luz Portugal. The
Portuguese Investigation was a shambles, and has since
been shelved. Its been over two years now and no one seems
to be helping the McCanns find their daughter Madeleine.

Jim Gamble recently launched a new Internet Initiative to
help find Madeleine, but it would seem that the Portuguese
Authorities have not even put a contact/Information
phoneline in place !!l

I thought that being a British Citizen was important, and
that it is our Government and Law enforcements remit to
look out for and protect us. Especially overseas !

I hope you can assist in this case as this family
desperately need official help to find their daughter
Madeleine Beth McCann, now 6 years old !

Yours sincerely,
Catkins

I would also like to remind everyone that a real letter, sent via mail, is more effective than emails. So how about sending an email, and then printing it off in a letter format and sending it snail mail. I know that Rosie suggested this at the start of this thread (I think it was this thread) and she is right (isnt she always).

Paper letters have a bigger impact than emails for a number of reasons, and will add to the cause, especially on top of the emails.
