Sylvia Baptista Statement

The above is the manager/receptionist of OC and was called in on the night that Madeleine disappeared. I have read her statement on the 3As and it appears to me that she saw Robert Murat on the night in question. Any thoughts? May

Murat could be a scapegoat too, like Madeleine´s parents, to hide the blunders of PJ. We should also take that in consideration. Regards. Your friend. Pedro.

I belive Murat may have been his own worst enemy by invloving himself with the PJ left him open to suspicion in the first place leading him to becoming an aguido. In some ways I feel sorry for both him and particularly Murat's mother both of whom must have been traumatised by the events that followed. True to say there were a certain suspicious cercumstances particularly his tactless and unnecessary dealings with the PJ, his unfortunate association with the Rusian guy, his lady friend and the suspicious looking deletion of his PC's contents. I think that at the offset he poked his nose in too deeply and as a result got his fingers burnt! Still, got a few Bobs damages for his troubles I believe!

Hi May, there were many sightings of Murat. Some placing him in diferent locations at the same time. It is also worth considering that there are a few people who also look like Murat which could have led to this confusion.

I dont know much about Murat himself so I cant speculate on his involvment.

Reinforcing what Mod just said, there seems to be too many lookalikes, in some way even remote family of each other, linked to similar interests (real estate, tourism and wine...), all in a very small piece of land. These people are even more strikingly similar to each other than the so much talked about similarity between Murat and Payne. One of them even has to do with the OC, which could very well explain his presence around. In another thread this genealogy is discussed.

Yes, I know about the lookalikes and the one connected to the OC in particular, who I think is distantly related to Murat. During previous discussions about him, he left OC at around 6 in the evening if my memory serves me well ( of course this information only came from the media not, as yet, the PJ files) but that doesn't mean that others who could have been confused with him were not also around. I am left wondering, as Sylvia Baptista did not know Robert, only his parents and where they lived, then who mentioned to her that it was him? I would have thought that it was someone local who did know him, rather than a holiday maker. May

Crikey, theres a good point May. Also why would they see a man and discus him in the first place as to him being Murat? I take it the sighting was something remembered after Madeleine vanished.

Or was a discussion had after the event?
