Hunt for a detective to head madeleine probe/Daily Express

Kate and Gerry McCann are reviewing their strategy as no major breakthrough has emerged in the hunt for Madeleine.

Millionaire businessman Brian Kennedy, their financial backer, is seeking a former high-ranking police detective to mastermind the private investigation.


He has interviewed several candidates and will see more in the coming weeks. Whoever takes on the job faces the mammoth task of assessing information gathered by many private detectives since Madeleine vanished 18 months ago.


The investigator will also have to read thousands of pages of Portuguese police files released in August and painstakingly translated.


The family’s spokesman Clarence Mitchell said the investigation was continuing in many countries as the McCanns study the files line by line.

Heart specialist Mr McCann said in his blog report last week: “Kate and I have been incredibly busy over the last couple of months since the files were made public.

“We and our family have always vowed to leave no stone unturned in the search for our daughter and knowing exactly what has been done and, more importantly, what has not been done is vital in planning our future strategy.”

Well that's good news imo.The hunt is definitely intensifying and i think they are doing the right thing,as always.
I hope this works.Everything they are trying to do for this little girl will continue to keep her plight in the public eye ,and hopefully one day give them the breakthrough they so desperately need

It needs a special person to head this investigation and it looks like Brian Kennedy is to make sure this is who they get.

I have a good feeling about this, I have faith and also a gut instinct that they will find Madeleine alive and please God that is soon.

It is obvious Kate and Gerry assisted by Brian Kennedy, are not going to give up the search for their beloved daughter and I am so glad we are here willing and able to do our little bit in supporting them as they do this.

I must say if these parents are guilty they are sure going around things in a strange way, hiring the best detective they can to spearhead this investigation could (if guilty) lead to their own detection, I wonder what the blithering idiot antis have to say about this?

Far from being in a bad mood, I am incredibly upbeat and know the search for Madeleine is going to be intensified and who ever abducted her is going to be discovered and brought to book, eh Gonclao? Not good news as you go into your trial is it?

In fact I would expect in the coming week an announcement regarding the hunt for Madeleine, just nicely timed from when Lardy Boy goes to trial!

I agree with everything you've said Rosie. I also find it gratifying that Brian Kennedy - an obvious intelligent, self-made millionaire is convinced of the McCann's complete innocence (as we all are on this forum).

Guys, forgive me, but I'm unclear on something. Is Brian Kennedy related to the Mcann's? I thought he was a brother or brother in -law, but everytime I read about him it's to do with him being a millionaire who is financially backing them. Either way, thank god we have people like this in the world who will use their money to uncover and expose the evils of this world. He deserves a medal of honor or something...it's fantastic.

I am feeling rather down about this case recently. I don't know what to think anymore, and I sooo want to be upbeat like all of you. I pray for her every day, I just want answers as I'm sure most of you do.

I feel like every time I take my daughter out in public I am giving people (particularly men) the evil eye...unconsciously saying TOUCH MY KID AND YOU'LL DIE. It's terrible, I really have to calm down. But on the other hand- we can't! Not until this is turned upside down.

Here's a recent story out of Hamilton (Canada)....a peodophile piece of crap finished serving 2/3rds of a 4 year sentence for....drumroll.....abducting a 6 year old girl from a backgarden birthday party, raping and beating her almost to death...and leaving her for dead. 4 YEARS?! Are these courts kidding us? Even better, now he has been released into an area nearby. Ohh that's just great. Just great. Unreal.

I am so fed up with this crap and every once and a while just need to vent.
