Ended searches requested by British police in Maddie case

The searches in the scrubland to find clues that could lead to the whereabouts of Madeleine McCann ended this Wednesday, unsuccessfully in Praia da Luz, Lagos zone, and the British police will return home on Thursday.

Source of Judicial Police told Lusa that searches, requested by British police, ended about 17 hours.

The source stated that the work was completed after more than a week of searching on land where Scotland Yard admitted that could be found objects or other evidence that would help clarify the disappearance of the girl, seven years ago.

The work, which included excavations began on day 2, in the viewpoint of Praia da Luz, and today focused on land at the entrance to the tourist resort.

According to a source heard by Lusa British police will return to Portugal, a date not yet scheduled to hear another eight people, which they admit, may help clarify the case.

Seven years after the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, Portuguese and British authorities raided adjacent to the holiday village where the McCann family were housed vacation land.

The proceedings were required by Scotland Yard, which has never closed the investigation, unlike the Portuguese authorities, who closed the case in 2008.

Madeleine McCann disappeared a few days before to four years, May 3, 2007, the room where he slept with both, younger, in an apartment of a tourist resort in Praia da Luz in the Algarve twin brothers.
