"I use the above to illustrate the fact that lack of forensic evidence is not proof that no abduction took place in the case of Madeleine McCann. I believe Madeleine was abducted by a similarly 'brilliant' man who knew how to leave no trace of himself. I also believe that he opened the window in an attempt to put the police of track and/or to create question marks around the parents version of events and/or involvement in the case.

In other words, the abductor got precisely what he wanted, and more - a police force, a media, and certain members of the public who focussed on everything and everyone but himself! This is not about 'nations', for I am not English or Portuguese. But in this case, I say shame on the Portuguese police for not taking this obvious possibility into account at the start where the first 48 hours are the most crucial of all, in terms of possibly saving an innocent child."
