Families of victims demand truth about the wreck in Italy

Survivors and relatives of victims of the sinking of the Costa Concordia demanded the truth during a pre-hearing on the accident in Italy on Saturday, while some still await identification of their loved ones, a month and a half after the disaster.

The giant cruise ship turned in Tuscany, near the island of Giglio, after hitting a rock, on January 13, killing at least 25 people. Seven people are still missing and found eight bodies have not yet been identified.

Prosecutors accused the captain Francesco Schettino have caused the accident, to take the ship Costa Concordia, many floors and carrying over 4,200 passengers and crew, very close to the coast.

Eight other officers and executives of the company owning the ship - Costa Cruises - are also under investigation.

"We want to know the truth, what happened and what we do now. That's all we ask," said Hilaire Blemand, a French citizen whose son Michael was on the ship with his girlfriend Mylene Litzler, 23.
