Kate and Gerry McCann were furious yesterday as it emerged the ex cop they are suing for £1.2million over claims that Madeleine is dead has written a SECOND book.
The couple have already taken legal action to ban former Portuguese detective Goncalo Amaral’s first book, The Truth of the Lie.

In his second book, The English Gag, he suggests there is something significant about a pink blanket which he claims disappeared on the night the three-year-old vanished from the resort of Praia da Luz in 2007.
A source close to the McCanns said: “They just despair. This is the level of distortion and lies they’ve been up against.”
The source refuted any suggestion that a blanket had disappeared. He said: “You could see it on the bed in the first photographs taken of the room. Amaral wasn’t even there.”

Amaral wasn't even there, "No but we know where he was". .

It just shows he is making things up as he goes along.

This sequel was obviously planned to keep the coffers coming in.

It just shows it is all about money to him, make as much as he can off the back of dear little child that he failed.

Dispicable man, maybe someone should write a book entitled "Why does the not want Madeleine found ?"

The sequel could be "Who is protecting ?"

well where did the blanket go to then???

Hmmm if it was visible on the first photographs taken who saw it in the room....or on the pics and decided it must be removed??

Sometimes i get the feeling that not only have they not bothered trying to find madeleine and collect evidence correctly to do so...they have also got rid of any evidence that might provide a breakthrough.

tut tut tut ...more cover ups??more lies??more corruption??? and more crime to.

It is CRIME to withhold evidence gonc...maybe someone close to you working in the same rank as you could answer your question about the whereabouts of the pink blanket.After all it is them who would have had access to the apartment in the days following Madeleine abduction and it is them who would have had access to any evidence in order to hide or destroy.

I also believe that this blanket was used to give to Madeleine's scent to one lot of sniffer dogs (the ones that track live people that were brought in immediately). I dont have a link to that, but if someone else does, then can they post it.

But arent we dealing with a halfwit who has taken something said on the Oprah show and completely misunderstood the meaning of it. Being the 'her blanket' comment that Oprah said, and it has already been discussed that in ENGLISH, any blanket covering Madeleine at any time will be referred to as her blanket. It does not signify any special or specific blanket. If this is the basis of his book, then he is on a the road to a hiding in the libel court.
