Convicted British paedophile Raymond Hewlett has denied any involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, say Sky News sources.





Hewlett had been refusing to speak to the McCann detectives

Raymond Hewlett emerged from hospital in a wheelchair to refute claims that he had any knowledge of the missing girl's whereabouts.
But he said he would talk to private investigators hired by Kate and Gerry McCann.
Hewlett, 64, was living in Tavira in southern Portugal when the couple's daughter vanished on May 3 2007.
The coastal town is about an hour's drive from Praia da Luz, where Madeleine, then three, disappeared while on a family holiday.
Hewlett, who was jailed in 1972 for abducting and raping a girl of 12, is being treated for throat cancer at a hospital in Aachen, Germany.

He is wanted by British and Irish police in connection with inquiries, dating back several decades.
But he denied a 1975 indecent assault that West Yorkshire Police want to question him about.
Hewlett allegedly made sinister comments after Madeleine's disappearance.
And because of his serious medical condition, the McCann team are hoping the Aachen public prosecutor will soon order a DNA test on him.
They want to see if it matches unidentified samples taken from the McCanns' holiday apartment.
Yesterday, former Det Insp Dave Edgar, who is leading the probe, said: "If he's got nothing to hide, he should speak to us.
"It's a matter of urgency because of his medical condition."

Well let's see and if he trul has nothing to hide, what is stopping him giving a DNA sample? Him AND his partner!

Efforts by private investigators to quiz a new suspect in the Madeleine McCann case turned to farce today.

Raymond Hewlett, 64, this morning agreed to meet the detectives - but they were already waiting to board a flight back to the UK.

They then refused to return to the hospital in Germany where he is being treated for cancer.

Yesterday, the McCanns' spokesman Clarence Mitchell gave Hewlett an ultimatum to meet the investigators by this morning to "help clear his name".

Hewlett, a convicted paedophile, wheeled himself into the car park of the hospital in Aachen and told waiting reporters he would speak to the detectives.

"I have nothing to hide. I am willing to talk with them," he said, denying any involvement in Madeleine's disappearance from a holiday apartment in Portugal two years ago.

But it was too late.

Mr Mitchell told Sky News: "He should have indicated yesterday that he was happy to talk to us.

"We welcome his indication that he will speak to us, but it will have to be rearranged.

"That meeting will take place in the near future, but we won't reveal where and when."

The investigators arrived in Aachen on Saturday and tried to arrange a meeting through Hewlett's wife Marianna.

But the hospital authorities would not let them in - and Hewlett apparently made no effort to see the detectives over the weekend.

Hewlett was living an hour's drive from Praia da Luz, where Madeleine vanished on May 3 2007.

He has since aroused suspicion through comments he is said to have made to a British couple who befriended him.

It is understood the Portuguese police were aware of Hewlett at some stage during their investigation, but it is unclear if they interviewed him.

Sources in Portugal have said that new, potential sightings of Madeleine are being ignored by police, who believe Madeleine is dead.

Portuguese police abandoned their investigation last year after unearthing no evidence of what happened to Madeleine.

Alex, I don't think anyone was overly convinced that he would speak, in fact I know I wasn't, I just waited to see if he would, like everything else, I'll believe it when I see it.

I think what this man did today was to pull a stunt, but if he thinks people are not going to see straight through this he can think again. I am wondering if the real story behind this, was he will speak to the McCann investigators if he gets paid. The filthy lying pervert.

Or the plan was , he knew because he was told the latest time to talk to the investigators, so he is guilty, he does know something and he thought his little stunt today would get him off the hook.

Why didn't Hewlett stay put in his bed and let the investigators in to talk to him in private at a pre arranged time?
Why wheel himself out in a car park to talk to them when he knew they were not there?

Hewlett is one stinking big lying perverted paedophile and he is as guilty as sin.

What I believe is that the McCann investigators know something we do not know, they probably know he is going to be extradited back to this country where he will be questioned properly and officially by the police and that includes those from the Madeleine task force at the Leicestershire constabulary.

How near to death is he if he can wheel himself outside to a car park anyway?

Hewlett may have those warped minded perverts, paedophiles and porn lovers from a certain forum fooled, but he does not fool sane decent people, we see him for exactly what it is.

I feel so sorry for his victims and their families to have this man's evil face thrust at them when they must have thought he had gone from their lives, I also feel for his children, ALL of them included those in this country who have the misfortune to have this evil specimen as a father, none of them deserved that.

Why are we surprised? they have no sympathy for Madeleine and her parents, the true victims of this heinous crime that this person may be involved with, after all the people on the 3 P's and other hate blogs like Proud of the Perjurer, have spent the best part of two years protecting him from detection and so have the Portuguese police and government!

But Hewlett the only thing that will stop you from being formerly questioned is your death, so don't start celebrating just yet!

This sicko knows exactly what he is doing....he is a pro at manipulating people and turning the blame onto others.He does it with his victims,and hes doing it with the privates.The good thing is though,the privates walked on with the flight back to the uk and said...no he will wait now,we shall come back.In other words....he doesn't bloody rule us,we will deal with him,he wont deal with us!! he might have been in control of his victims fate,but he certainly isnt in control here.
