It is right for the police to question the cost of the investigation and to seek funding for it to continue. it would be irresponsible if that were not done, as after all they do not have an unlimited supply of money.

Hopes were raised this year when Det Chief Insp Andy Redwood, leading the review, said he believed Madeleine had been abducted by a stranger and could be alive.

This quote gives me hope that the funding will be continued.

And then there is this.

However, the Portuguese authorities are still refusing to re-open the inquiry.

Disgraceful really.
