KATE MCCANN ran into action yesterday to keep the search for her missing daughter Madeleine in the spotlight.




The 41-year-old wore a white vest with a picture of Madeleine on the front and the words “Don’t give up on me” as she participated in the Great Kibworth run near her home in Leicestershire.

Mrs McCann, a keen runner, finished a third of a marathon, in support of one of her favoured charities Macmillan Cancer Support.

She was joined by friends including Fiona Payne – a member of the Tapas Seven group of key witnesses in the disappearance of the toddler. Husband Gerry McCann cheered his wife on. Mrs McCann, who returned to Portugal last week for the first time since Madeleine vanished from Praia da Luz in 2007, said detectives were still working hard on the case. She said: “We’ve had a lot of information come in even this far down the line. There are various reasons why they don’t come forward in the early days.

“We just need to keep going, just need to get more information and hope we get the bit we need really.”

Mrs McCann has said that she cries daily for her missing daughter. “Each day we get through, each week that we get through, I’m thinking, how is Madeleine?” she added.

Madeleine's abduction was tough for them all,and still is..... and the media aftermath with its smears and lies leaked by gonc and co hasn't helped them.Im glad they are still stood side by side, strong.
Thats what friends are for.Good on them.
Sticking together and fighting strong will not just help bring madeleine home it will also give them some comfort and strength to get through the hard times.My heart goes out to them all,its good to know you have friends who will stay beside you through thick and thin.Soooo many people these days run a mile when they are needed.But there are those who wont,they will stay there and go through the hard times with you..that's fabulous..... Kate and Gerry have some good support around them,they all do.And i hope together they can bring madeleine home and re-build the damage and heartache that's been caused to them all over the last 2 and a half years.

Good for Kate. Keep putting it out there in the public eye. And I'm glad she was raising money for the cancer research center - she's reclaiming bits of her life.

It cant be easy living each day without Madeleine.
At least she is doing something for others despite going through tough times, unlike the Bennetts/Butlers and Brens of this world.

Well done Kate, you are an inspiration.

I would like to see a World wide Run for all missing children in Madeleine´s name. I emailed the Madeleine Campaigners with the idea.
