R.I.P. VirginMedia soundbites board.

Finally closed, after being open since the day Madeleine was abducted.

This was the very first Madeleine board, forum or website I ever posted on, about three months after she was taken. I posted on there each and every day, right up till Christmas 2007, when the moderation standards took a sudden nosedive, and it became ever more dificult to get a post up. I still posted on there regularly, even if I couldn't get one up every day. I made some good friends on there, some of whom I still talk to via e-mail, and indeed Jimjam is now a member of this forum. The soundbites board led me to many more places, and indeed was partly responsible for the coming about of my own website. Even when it sometimes took twenty to thirty attempts to get a post up I never gave up if I had a point to make. Now it is closed. I don't know the reason, maybe VM just decided it had run it's course, but I am betting the anti's will be claiming credit for it. But the really sad thing is that the very last post to go up is a poisonus anti one. A terribly sad legacy. I feel an important part of me has gone.

I used to post on that board. I gave up after having to wait hours to see if my post would go up. It was a lottery.

But for the supporters who kept putting messages of support up from day one to the end even though it was so difficult deserve respect. DrachenSachen used to have fun winding up the supporters. It's where we first met Sillycat.

We then moved to the big Debates board where Drachen followed us and I left that in the end simply because I could not live on the same board as the Countess.

I have just seen this thread. The small board has given me so many friends over the last year or so, some of whom I still keep in touch with through forums like yours vee. It is such a shame because it wasn't doing any harm to anybody, the biggest insult of all though was the shutting down of all the Madeleine board in the sound-bites section even the support board.
The big debates board was good until sh*t face turned up with it's vile ramblings and copy and pasting of child porn stories.

The regular posters on the small board will always have my respect and admiration.
