Jonathan Green killed with lethal injection

Executed for the rape and death of girl in the U.S.

A man sentenced to death for the murder of a 12 year old girl for more than a decade and whose lawyers claimed to have a mental illness was executed late on Wednesday in the U.S. state of Texas.

Jonathan Green, 44, was executed with a lethal injection after the Supreme Court rejected a last-minute appeal from his lawyers.

Green was convicted of kidnapping, rape and strangulation of Christina Neal, 12, whose body was found in the defendant's home a month after her disappearance.
