Missing British boy set for family reunion
My friends, at Sky News today, if you wish to see the video, look for the title:
"Missing British boy set for family reunion":
Kidnapped five-year-old Sahil Saeed, who has been found safe and well in Pakistan, is due to be reunited with his parents.
The British High Commission is due to takle custody of the boy later, before returning him to gis family in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
It remains unclear exactly when Sahil was rescued, but a Pakistani fovernment minister has confirmed: "the boy is with us".
The five-year-old had been missing since March 4, when he was snatched from a house in the Punjab region while his family were hel at gunpoint.
Sky News´s Asia correspondent Alex Crawford said it is understood Sahil was "dropped off at an address at a school around 13 miles away from his grandmother´s home in Jhelum. My understanding is that Sahil was recovered without a police operation and he was found on his own after he was left by someone who then ran away", she added.
Pakistani police said they had no evidence that anyone from the family was involved in the kidnapping.
Meanwhile, Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah told reportes a ransom for Sahil´s release had been paid "not in Britain, but in another country. An international gang was involved in the kidnapping, inckuding nationals of other countries", he added.
He is due back in the UK this week.
"Pakistan got a bad name and very bad publicity fromm this but I congratulate the mother and the father that he has been found safe", he added.
Alex Crawford said: "I have just come off the phone from the British High Commission and they are overjoyed at the news".
British High Comissioner Adam Thomson described the development as "fantastic. It brings ro an end the traumatic ordeal faced by Sahil and his family", he said in a statement read out by a spokesman for the diplomatic mission.
He also praised the "high level of co-operation between UK and Pakistani authorities, in particular... the Jhelum police for their role in bringing about the safe return of Sahil".
The Pakistani government minister Rana Sanaullah told Sky´s Alex Crawford: "I can assure you (Sahil) has been found safe and sound for the last fout to five days".
This is wonderful news. Glad he was found safe and sound.
Now Mr. Adam Thomson, let´s do the same about our sweet Madeleine McCann.

Re: Missing British boy set for family reunion
Apparently the Pakistani authorities and the UK worked together to secure this little lad's release.
Shame the Portuguese police could not hide their arrogance in the corrupt Goncalo Amaral and work with the UK, perhaps Madeleine would have been found and her abductors caught.

Re: Missing British boy set for family reunion
The Sunday Telegraph .... [b]Kidnap: the strange case of Sahil Saeed ....
Quote ... It suggests that at the very least the kidnap was co-ordinated, and possibly even conceived, by someone in Britain who was familiar with the Saeed family's movements and their financial circumstances. "We believe the planning all came from the UK" said the Pakistani police source.
Quote ...[i]But though his ordeal is over, police are still struggling to unpick the sinister criminal network stretching from Pakistan to Europe - and to answer the new questions about the kidnappers' link to Britain.
Quote ...Police in Jhelum are working on the theory that the kidnappers knew Sahil's mother, and believed her family would be able to raise the ransom.
Father and mother separated in 2008, father went back to Pakistan. When he was pictured on the tv during the ordeal he didn't really look too bothered, as though he knew where his son was!!
I still think there is more to this than meets the eye!!
