Tony Bennett is said to have stashed away over £90.000 in separate bank accounts.

Money he earned off of a missing child's back.

Apparently he has much in common with convicted criminal Goncalo Amaral, both pimp off of missing Madeleine McCann.

Now we know why Debbie Butler and Tony Bennett DO NOT want Madeleine found, now we know why they have actively IMPEDED the search and frustrated the search for Madeleine at every twist and turn, even going as far as entering the street of the home of the parents and Madeleine's brother and sister and leaflet dropping their neighbours.

It is nothing short of an absolute sickening disgrace!

The police have been told repeatedly about the actions of this group, why have they not acted BEFORE?

There has been threats of violence towards the McCanns and their children. Actual shots being fired at the home of another campaigner who has been trying to expose the murky depths the anti-McCann group known as the "Madeleine Foundation" has plummeted.

The account holds £2,700 but Mr Bennett is thought to have £90,000 in private accounts.

This is money that many people have donated under the *FALSE IMPRESSION* that this *ANTI-McCANN* group were in support of the parents of Madeleine McCann, it is obvious.

Some of us have been pointing out that this is why Tony Bennett and Debbie Butler, deliberately chose this name, it looks like it is an official support group, when it is anything but.

Personally I think that both Bennett and Butler should be probed by the serious fraud squad for *DELIBERATELY* misleading the public into believing that they were donating for Madeleine and her parents, instead of AGAINST them.

When Debbie Butler appeared on TV being interviewed about her leaflet drop, she had EVERY opportunity to put the record straight about the confusion over this name, she did NOT, instead she CHOSE to further the confusion by giving the misleading impression that she and Bennett and Grenville Green and his wife Helen Davies-Green and Sharon Bradford, were actually trying to help the McCanns, we all remember what she said in that interview, but just in case some of you have forgotten, listen to it here again.

Debbie Butler had ample chance on TV and radio to amend the false impression that she and her friend Tony Bennett have deliberately given out.

I find that I cannot believe a single word that comes out of the mouth of Butler and Bennett, Stevo and Ryan, these people have repeated lied, REPEATEDLY, to everyone, they have been duplicitous and they have actively spread disinformation about Madeleine.

In my opinion the only reason why Debbie Butler has gone running to the police and reported Bennett, is because she KNOWS she is already the subject of a fraud enquiry and she wants to absolve herself of guilt by blaming it all on Tony Bennett.

Don't forget up until very recently, Debbie Butler and Tony Bennett have presented a united front, they have BOTH been complicit in accepting money in donations, in my opinion both knowing that it was donated under the false impression that people thought they were helping the McCanns and Madeleine. There MUST have been some notes enclosed with the donations to this effect. so I ask this question (and I hope the police do too)

If they did not, then this is obtaining money by deception.

If anyone reads this, who has in fact donated to the Madeleine Foundation and to Bennett and Butler under the misapprehension that they thought they were helping Kate and Gerry McCann, they should contact their local police station and complain and ask them to get in touch with the Maidstone police who are investigating this serious fraud, of people cashing in on an abducted child! It is sick beyond belief!

Remember until recently Debbie Butler has been complicit in in everything this Foundation and Tony Bennett and Stevo did *EVERYTHING*.

But are we surprised? No, of course not, Bonny and Ms Marbles and Tony on the Hounding of the McCanns and the majority of us who post on this forum have been screaming out at the authorities to do something about this, we all knew it was wrong and we all knew it stunk to high heaven.

I also understand that Bennett is being investigated previously to this too, this is why I think Butler panicked and tried to blame it all on Bennett! Bearing in mind that Butler only ever does anything for herself, she has been getting off on causing the McCanns untold pain and distress for 2.5 years and now we learn of all of this cash impropriety? Bennett stinks, Stevo stinks and so does Debbie Butler.

When is the UK attorney general going to rule on making Tony Bennett a vexatious litigant? Haven't they had enough time? How much longer? It is not as if the attorney general has not also been informed repeatedly of the antics of Butler and Bennett is it?

Now we have Stevo under the auspices of Debbie Butler's Madeleine Foundation trying to publish Amaral's book in English. How much longer are they going to be allowed to get away with this?

Another question,

Who gets the money, and *which bank account* does all the donations made through Paypal on the Madeleine Foundation's website go in to? Bennett's? Butler's? Stevo's?

Perhaps the serious fraud squad should scrutinise the history of the donations made through PAYPAL on the DONATION button, provided by STEVO on the Madeleine Foundation website and whose bank accounts they ended up in?

I have been asking this s for some time now.

The Madeleine Foundation is NOT a registered charity and it is not a Not for Profit registered company, so what is it exactly?

Who is paying the taxes on all this unearned income, looks to be well over £100.000?

This IS tax deductible income, who is accountable for the Madeleine Foundation's accounts?

Who is receiving money through Stevo and the Madeleine Foundation when he makes a sale for Goncalo Amaral's books, which are PROHIBITED?

This whole thing stinks and is highly illegal.

Now will these fools that have hung in to the coat tails of Bennett, Butler and Stevo, realise that they have been used, abused and made complete and utter pillocks out of?

Personally, although I am happy that at last someting is being done about the obvious here, I am also deeply saddened that people seem to have no scruples when it comes to making a fast buck off of the back of a missing child.

Statement by Tony Bennett, Secretary of The Madeleine Foundation, in response to an article in today’s (7 November) ‘Sun’

I woke up this morning to read an article in today’s ‘Sun’ newspaper notifying its five million or so readers that there is a ‘fraud probe’ in relation to the finances of The Madeleine Foundation.

‘The Sun’ did not contact me before printing the article.

The recent background to this article, for those not so far aware of events of the last fortnight, is as follows.

On 26 October, for reasons best known to herself, Debbie Butler, Chairman of The Madeleine Foundation, decided to launch a strong personal attack on a public internet forum, ‘Missing Madeleine’, which included many false allegations against me.

Due to this and many other related issues, the Committee of The Madeleine Foundation was left with no alternative by Monday 2 November but to expel her from membership under Paragraph 6 of our Constitution. On the same day, our bank was notified of a dispute, notified that one of the signatories to the account had been expelled, and informed that a members’ meeting would be held on 14 November when new signatories would be appointed.

The allegations by Debbie Butler of ‘fraud’ and financial impropriety followed these events. There is no truth in any of her claims.

I deal now with specific issues on ‘The Sun’ report.

Dealing with the false claim that I ‘ran the account from my home in Harlow’, the brief facts are these: 1. The branch of the bank in which the account is held is in Debbie Butler’s home town of Maidstone 2. The account was jointly operated in that not one penny could be taken out of the account without both Debbie Butler and I signing cheques.

‘The Sun’ article refers to the possibility that people might have mistakenly donated to The Madeleine Foundation thinking it was to support the fund to help find Madeleine. No-one donated on that basis. Incidentally Debbie Butler has publicly called for people who donated to the Foundation to ask for their money back. No-one has yet done so.

Yes, the account has just over £2,700 in it.

As for claims that people sent in ‘tens of thousands of pounds’, the actual total income to the Foundation between its establishment and the end of September 2009 was £8,104.05, made up a follows:

Madeleine Foundation members were recently sent a set of income and expenditure accounts in our newsletter.

I now deal with ‘The Sun’ statement that ‘Mr Bennett is thought to have £90,000 in private accounts’. This is how that statement arose.

At the meeting with Kirwans, Solicitors, Liverpool, on 2 October 2009, the lawyers asked about our personal financial circumstances. I told them honestly that my current annual income was £14,000 (I have just filed my tax return) and that I had ‘a few tens of thousands’ saved up for my old age. This is where the ‘£90,000’ comes from.

I take this opportunity to say that I have not made one penny either from the sale of ’60 Reasons’ nor in any way from The Madeleine Foundation; indeed it was my declared intent at the outset to make not a penny in any way connected with Madeleine’s disappearance. Our accounts will shortly be audited and that will I trust make it still plainer that there is no fraud or financial impropriety or irregularity in the conduct of The Madeleine Foundation’s affairs.

Contrary to the hopes of Gerry and Kate McCann as expressed in ‘The Sun’ article that ‘The Foundation is now in meltdown’, we have new blood on our Committee, we have a members’ meeting shortly, and we have plans.

Finally I wish to take this opportunity to clear up a few false rumours that appear to have been put about on the internet by Debbie Butler and including statements made by ‘Stevo’, Debbie Butler’s friend, on what was our website, www.madeleinefiudnation.org

I have seen claims that Debbie Butler put large amounts of money into The Madeleine Foundation. That is wholly untrue. As the above record of income shows, she made a loan of £350 in the initial stages to help get ’60 Reasons’ printed and published. On 7 October 2009 she asked for the return of that loan and I sent her a cheque the very same day. However, in addition, as the bank records will prove, I sent her more than £350. I sent her a cheque for £500 which included a further £150 which was my best estimate of the amount she had underclaimed in postage and stationery to date. There is email correspondence on this issue which I am happy to disclose if asked.

Second, I have seen references made to a ‘mysterious amount’ paid out of The Foundation’s accounts. This was a sum of £800.00 expenses paid to me on 30 September on a cheque signed by Debbie Butler and which she knows about. The £800, which is fully backed by receipts, consists of a back claim for postage and stationery etc. and also a payment of £245.00 I made to Vera Steinke to finance a print run of 250 copies of the German translation of ’60 Reasons’ (income from those sales is pending). The large claim for postage etc. arose for two reasons.

First, Debbie Butler had become increasingly erratic in sending out ’60 Reasons’ to those who had paid for it via PayPal, and I was getting increasing numbers of complaints from people whose orders had not been fulfilled. I simply had to take over the sending out of the booklets to ensure that that side of our work was run efficiently.

Second, the press articles about the distribution of the ’10 Reasons’ leaflet in Leicestershire in August caused a huge upsurge of interest in our work and many new orders for booklets and other enquiries. Thus postage costs rose rapidly for the weeks after that.

I had planned to leave early to see my mother on the south coast this weekend, today 7 November is my late father’s birthday. When I’ve sent this off, we shall be away for the weekend, but if anyone has any queries I’ll be happy, as always, to answer them, after then.

Needless to say, when I have a moment, there will be a complaint from me to The Press Complaints Commission about the article, which appears to have been printed based on ‘information’ supplied by Debbie Butler and hs not in any way been checked with me.

I’m downcast but not defeated.

I love seeing the house of cards built by Tony and Debbie fall all around them - couldn't happen to a more crazy twosome gruesome. I warned Deb that Karma always comes around and she should be very concerned. What did she do? Replied that I should buy the stupid booklet - I of course replied diplomatically (ok not so diplomatically that I didn't read trash never mind pay for trash)!!!

This is too much for me on this Sunday morning. Too many lies, accusations, claims of misconduct to understand what the truth is.

But clearly, the status quo for the Houndation must change. Either Butler is lying or Bennet, or as I have said previously, both. Lets hope the police are in on the act, and a thorough forensic financial investigation is done on the Houndation and Bennett, and as Rosie says, the paypal payment button on the Houndation site. Which bank account received the money, has it always been going to this account, and how much went through there? I think that the infamous idiot Stevo also needs to be investigated. Also, has a tax return been lodged for the Houndation, and VAT statements which I believe must be lodged regularly in the UK.

Just speculating:
a. because they don't sell anything (booklet) anymore?
b. because it went into the (frozen) bank account of the Houndation?
c. because it went into the bank account of bennett?

Just a thought, would Paypal have a record of all transactions that have occurred? Because if they do (and I suspect they do) then they probably also know what Paypal accounts have been used on what websites, and what bank accounts the Paypal accounts are linked to, or have evey been linked to.

The police will easily get this information,so if any funny business has been going on with the Paypal account(s), then it will be found out.

I think the police will be given access to anything they require.

Paypal certainly have records of all his transactions, also Paypal are now owned by ebay and ebay fall over backwards to help law enforcement agencies.

Incidentally you can still buy yhing through the Madeleine Foundation and can still pay with a paypal account, anyone actually purchasing something from the Foundation should be shown the name and the address of the seller!

Of course this may have been changed now, but Paypal would still have the records. (They have to keep them for 7 years by law don't they?)

What I would like to know is, who is receiving payments for the booklets and leaflets, as they are still being sold through the website, despite Bennett giving reassurances that this would cease. These are serious accusations here.
