Middlesbrough Police had been looking all day for Rhys Moorhead.

He was found on the street, said Sky's North of England correspondent Gerard Tubb.

Rhys was believed to have gone missing from his grandmother's house in the Marton area of Teesside.

Police have said "all available resources" were involved in looking for him.

Tubb said Rhys had gone missing with the tricycle he had been playing on.

Rhys had last been seen playing in his grandparents' garden at Celadine Close in Marton, Middlesbrough, on his red and orange bike.

Police had searched the local area but initial searches had not located the five-year-old.

He has blond hair, blue eyes and a medium build.

He was wearing jeans, maroon trainers and a red short-sleeved top with a hood.

Tony Moorhead, 52, and Sharon Moorhead were named locally as Rhys' grandparents.

Great-uncle Brian Moorhead, 57, of Middlesbrough, told the Northern Echo newspaper: "Rhys is always around his grandparents home.

"He visits them a lot and they love spending time with him."

Brian said Rhys' mother is Melanie Moorhead, and his father is called Michael.

He said: "Michael and Melanie split up a couple of years ago. The last time I saw him was a couple of months ago, and it was when my brother Tony brought him round to see me.

"He's a lovely little lad and he's always smiling. I didn't know he was missing."

Brian added: "He's boisterous and adventurous, just a typical five-year-old."

"Tony said to me he just disappeared off the face of the earth. One minute he was there, the next he was gone."
