Madeleine´s parents new fresh appeal
Madeleine McCann´s parents have launched a new appeal for information about their daughter focused on the area where she went missing nearly two years ago. About 10,000 leaflets in Portuguese will be handed out and posted through letterboxes in Praia da Luz, Lagos and Burgau in southern Portugal over the next fortnight. The Algarve campaign will be backed up with billboards and advertising on three buses and a van. Family spokesman, Mr. Clarence Mitchell said the appeal was "very located" with the aim of collecting the vital clue that could lead to Madeleine being found. The official Find Madeleine Fund said in a statement: "At the time of Madeleine´s disappearance the emphasis was placed more on international appeals, and it has been recognised that the local Portuguese residents of Praia da Luz and the surrouding areas have never been properly asked about information they may have to give. "The purpose of the current campaign is to do just that - ask the local Portuguese residents for information to help find Madeleine. Experience shows that the crucial answers are in the immediate vicinity. "Someone in the area could almost certainly have the vital information that could help Madeleine´s return to her family, or a combination of people all coming forward with a single piece of information could piece together vital clues which could solve the disappearance. "Experience also shows that people almost confide in someone else. Someone in Praia da Luz may have been given information that should be passed on and now is the perfect opportunity to do just that". Information can be provided to the McCann´s private investigation team anonymously by telephone, email, text message or free post, and will be treated in utmost confidence.

Still Praying
Folks, it's been a while, but I wanted all of you to know that I continue to pray each and every day that one day I will turn on the tv and hear something, anything, that will end this nightmare for this family.
I am pleased to see that a new fresh appeal has been launched that will target the locals of that area. The answer is staring them in the face, I believe it and will never stop believing that someone in that tiny little community knows the whole entire truth and is frightened beyond words to share it.
In any event, it's great to see that you are all still avidly fighting the fight....take care,
Claire

Re: Madeleine´s parents new fresh appeal
After the posters and flyers in PdL (some of which have been torned as you reported), it is now apparent that Gerry will be in PdL this weekend to follow up on private investigations still going on there. This piece of news is transmitted by 24Horas (???!!!...) and adds that PJ is watchful over this and are only sorry that the visit didn't take place in due course. The spokesperson (CM?) promised revelations.

Oh, Exciting! Hope it is good news!
This will be a smack in the face for all the people who were decrying any benefits from the leafletting and posters! Can't wait!

Re: Madeleine´s parents new fresh appeal
Im glad to be reading this thread today.phew i have to be honest in recent weeks or months even i have wondered weather the case as started to take a serious set back where investigating tc is concerned. So glad that Gerry is in pdl this weekend and feel really happy that they are sending out these fliers and posters etc.
Please someone if you know anything then dont keep it to yourself....call someone anonymously and let them know whats happend to little madeleine. If not for her and her family......then do it for yourself. You cant live your life with this burden of guilt forever it will eat away at you and it will get worse as time goes on. Dont think for one minuit that you dont have a duty to carry out in the belief that you think they will one day find her without your help............your the one who can end this now........ for you and for them. ....do it for yourself more than anything, rid yourself of this guilt and then move on with your life. You can do it anonymously and at the same time you will be giving little madeleine and her family something special, something that no one else can give them.

Re: Madeleine´s parents new fresh appeal
Sure you read it already, but still, for future memory. On Sky today.
The father of Madeleine McCann has returned to Portugal to help private investigators stage a reconstruction.
Gerry McCann travelled without his wife Kate
Gerry McCann and friends Jane Tanner and Matthew Oldfield, who were with him and his wife Kate on the night their daughter vanished, are in Praia da Luz to help the detectives.
The McCanns' own investigators are making the reconstruction, which is also being filmed as part of a Channel Four Cutting Edge documentary.
Madeleine went missing in 2007
Viewers will see actors playing out what witnesses claim happened on the night of May 3, 2007 and witness statements will be read out.
Negotiations are under way for the film to be broadcast on Portuguese television and across Europe, and it will be available on the Find Madeleine website.
The McCann's spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "The aim of this is to get that critical piece of information that could still help to find Madeleine. Gerry has returned with that aim.
"Certain aspects of the witness testimony were hidden deep in the police files and these particular aspects have received very little attention. The private investigators feel that it is very important to highlight these things.
"It's being done simply in the hope that it will jog someone's memory."

A billboard on the edge of the town has been daubed with paint and flyers handed to locals have been ripped up, according to my man on the Algarve.</BLOCKQUOTE>Martin Brunt, Life of Crime
He said a man was seen acting "suspiciously" in the area two days before Madeleine disappeared, and that Ms Tanner claimed she saw a man who could have been an abductor carrying a sleeping child.
But some of the locals maybe reluctant to help with the reconstruction.
Sky's crime correspondent says there have been signs of protest against the McCann's renewed campaign to find their daughter.
The Channel Four programme, which is due to be broadcast on May 7, will also feature interviews with Mr McCann, Ms Tanner and Dr Oldfield.
It will be aired five days before the youngster's sixth birthday.
