The man was described as being " of the white race , aged 20 and 40 , short brown hair , medium height and beardless face ," said the statement from Scotland Yard .

The same paper reported that police also seized some goods of man , including the computer that was in his house and thought to be relevant .

The Portuguese authorities shelved the case in 2008 , but Scotland Yard launched a review of research in 2011 . Portuguese police have cooperated in the search for new tracks and , according to the Guardian , six researchers from Faro have done interrogations ordered by the British police .

Police have not revealed what the new tracks, but Inspector Andy Redwood said that is to focus on what has happened between 20.30 and 22pm that night .

" We know that 20:30 was the time when the McCanns went down to dinner at the tapas restaurant and know that at 22h was that Mrs McCann noticed the lack of Maddie ," explained Andy Redwood .

Police hope the broadcast of this reconstruction and robot - portraits allow the emergence of new information and created a " crisis cabinet " in Hendon , northwest London . The appeal will then be extended to Germany and Holland.

Scotland Yard questioned 442 people since it launched the review of research and identified 41 ( 15 of which are British citizens ) who are considered " of interest " .

According to the Guardian , police are also investigating mobile phone data of hundreds of people, including tourists, locals and employees of the resort . As is to identify and investigate various sexual predators .
