I must say this is an excellent article and thank goodness we have a journalist that doesn't mince his words and says at is it is, the Portuguese police involved in the Madeleine investigation are cruel, stupid, spiteful clowns and heading them was a CORRUPT, stupid, spiteful clown, Goncalo Amaral. If ever someone needs investigating it is this person and not until Amaral is hauled in for official questioning will the Portuguese ever begin to get to the bottom of why Madeleine was abducted and where she is now.

This will not end until Portugal does something to make it end and that something is force Amaral to speak, but I draw the line at Amaral's "preferred" techniques of battering people with cardboard tubes after covering their heads with plastic bags and then kicking the hell out of the persons head and body.

About time someone started to tell it how it is Portugal, the people are terrified of the right wing police and they will say anything, even confess to crimes they have not committed to save themselves from a beating from them. Ask Michael Cook, set up to pay for the murder of a child, part of the "evidence" used to convict him his vehicle tyre tracks, despite the tyre tracks being proved to come from another vehicle! Michale Cook was beaten and tortured and held upside down out of a window by his feet until he confessed, after being ~~tortured~~ questioned for days and not allowed to sleep, eat, drink or use the bathroom, where the man was forced to soil his clothes, he was taken to court to appear before the judge like this in this condition.

Yes for sure it is about time people started to complain very loudly about what is going on in Portugal and what people (yes even hapless holiday makers) face if they should suffer the misfortune of becoming a victim to a crime, or even being falsely accused of one and keep shouting until someone in the European Union takes some notice! If the EU wants to be taken seriously then it will listen and act upon these callous inhuman injustices.

Kate and Gerry McCann went on holiday for a week taking their family with them and they fell victim to the most heinous of crimes when their daughter was abducted from her bed, instead of Portugal owning up to this most despicable of crimes it allowed the parents to be smeared, blamed and accused on NO evidence at all and then it allowed that fat bent copper Amaral to write a book about it, make himself a shed load of money whilst libelling Madeleine's parents and it is about time Portugal stopped this heinous of practices, if it does not it could be YOUR child next!

Holiday in Portugal? I would rather go to Iraq!

If, as has been suggested in Portugal, there was a “media circus” around the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, then it is the Portuguese police who are the clowns.
Cruel, stupid, spiteful clowns.
You would never guess it but Kate and Gerry McCann are not actually on trial in Lisbon.
Madeleine’s parents have brought legal action against detective Goncalo Amaral, who they accuse of libelling them in his book, Maddie: The Truth Of The Lie.
But the Portuguese plods have used the libel case to declare open season on the McCanns. One former policeman, Francisco Moita Flores, told the court that only the “distraction” of the “media circus” prevented the McCanns from being charged with negligence.
“No one believed it was an abduction,” he told the court. “It was a fairytale, a fable.”
But if Madeleine was not abducted, then what happened?
The Portuguese police were shown up as a bunch of clueless amateurs by the Madeleine case, and – shamed, embarrassed, infuriated – they turned their rage on the McCanns.
Even now, the Portuguese cops treat Kate and Gerry McCann with a grotesque lack of respect.
Asked if he cared that he had hurt the McCanns, Goncalo Amaral told a BBC reporter: “No, f*** the McCanns.”
A class act, that fat copper, who has sought to make money out of a stolen child – and the endless grief of her parents.
And what a shock to see the faces of Kate and Gerry McCann back in our newspapers.
The indelible pain is stamped on their faces for ever.
The greatest tragedy is, of course, that a little girl was stolen from her family.
But it is also genuinely tragic that the Portuguese police did not seriously look for the idiot who stole her.
And that’s because they have always been far too busy slandering that little girl’s parents.

What disgusting excuses for human beings. The torture that they commited to innocent people in order to gain a confession! And the likes of the 3as asked the question WHY the McCanns were so quick to get lawyers???? FFS.....I'd be arming myself with a bloody gun if I had been in their shoes!
Without those lawyers, who knows what state the McCanns would be in or where they would be right now. Battered, bruised and behind bars, case closed, PJ looking good!
FFS, people need to know about the corruption in Portugal law, and now.

You don't question The PJ and get away with it, let me tell you.
They couldn't beat up The McCanns because there were too many people watching, so they did everything else they could think of to discredit and intimidate them. Starting by leaking lies to The Media, followed by lying to Gerry about DNA Evidence, and then followed by a lying and twisted Book.

Methinks that The PJ are fighting for the survival of their system of Law Enforcement.

They are losing.

Yes there are changes being made. Most of them are small changes to the process codes (civil process code and penal process code) to make them more les bureaucratic and faster. As to the relationship between PJ and the prosecutor, I've heard the lawyer's order saying that that was changed some years ago and now PJ is 'on free wheel', they can work in a given investigation if and when they want, so it wasn't a very good move. You know, our constitution and some laws directly deriving from it is very very good and even advanced. The problem is the huge amount of laws that survived from the fascist period (namely the codes themselves, civil and penal) which were NOT 'cancelled' and changed by new fresh laws. So now we have a labyrinth of laws, some of them contradictory and that's how we live.

In which concerns 'changes' the problem is that a change will inevitably touch some corporation (PJ, magistrates, judges, lawyers,...) and they will come out fighting it fiercely, until it is reverted. That happened, for instance, with the time a process may be under secrecy. The goverment/parliament passed a law reducing that time. Straight away the prosecutors came out, investigations that were about to be finished suddenly were delayed because of this or that, and now the secrecy time will be increased again.

In what relates to the PJ known methods, THAT, is illegal. Torture is absolutely forbiden in any way, shape or form starting at the constitution. The way the investigation is conducted, that is where the problem lays. It should be conducted by the prosecutor, but most of the times, it is whatever the investigator wants. Tavares de Almeida was very clear on that. 'We' do not like this, 'we' are convinced of this, 'we' think that. The same for Moita Flores: for him it is more credible, more 'true', the opinion of an investigator than the report of a prosecutor. They really are on free wheel...

What amazes me is that Amaral and Co think that The Prosecutor only has an opinion. They seem to have ignored the fact that The Prosecutor's opinion is the only one that counts.

Trying to fight The Prosecutor is just asking for trouble. They can't be allowed to get away with this.
