U.S. police were today hunting for a missing five-year-old girl who was sold for sex by her mother.
Shaniya Davis has been missing for six days after she was last seen being carried into a hotel room by a man.
FBI agents and U.S. Marshalls have joined the nationwide search for the toddler amid fears she had been sold to a paedophile ring.

Police have charged the girl's mother Antoinette Davis with human trafficking and prostitution offences.
An arrest warrant issued for the 25-year-old said she allowed her daughter to be taken 'with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude.'

How could she? Antoinette Nicole Davis, is accused of selling her five-year-old daughter Shaniya Davis into prostitution.



Davis, who is pregnant, first reported her daughter missing last Tuesday.
Police were suspicious of her story after reviewing a timeline of the events leading up to her disappearance from a trailer park in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

They later found CCTV footage from a hotel 40 miles from Fayetteville showing the five year old girl being carried into a hotel room by Mario McNeill.
has not been seen since and her mother has refused to cooperate with police.
Asked if police think the girl is still alive, Fayetteville police Sgt. John Somerindyke said: 'We sure hope so.'

The girl had only been living with her mother for three weeks, according to her father Bradley Lockhart.
He had primary custody of the girl, but had agreed to let her stay with her mother after she found a place to live and held a job for six months.

Lockhart broke down in tears at a press conference when he sobbed: 'I just want her to come back safe.'
Police have not charged anyone with molesting Shaniya, but said the investigation is ongoing.
The man accused of taking her turned himself in on Friday. Police said he admitted to kidnapping the child and has been charged with kidnap.

I know Vee, I've been following this story on CNN and it's not sounding good. I hope they find the little girl quickly and I hope the people involved are put in jail and the keys thrown away! There were six people living in that trailer home - surely one of them must have seen or heard something that night.

The father has shown poor judgement in leaving his daughter with her mother, especially if there were multiple people in the home and doing drugs.

The man that took the little girl must know what he did with her, but if he sold her on, then he may not even know where she is. But someone does. If she is still alive, then they have to find her soon, as she will just continue to be abused.

these people are dirty, depraved and deserve to be locked away for a very very long time.

It's horrifying. I hope that it makes people aware of how common and extreme child trafficking really is.

Torture Antoinette Davis, because, there are ways of force her to tell everything this ***** knows without harm the unborn child, and also to, once the unborn child is born, to be separated from this *****, because she could try to sell her too. Police Hunting For Missing Girl Find Body

Police hunting for a five-year-old girl who went missing almost a week ago in North Carolina have found a body, according to reports in the US.

The news comes after Shaniya Davis' mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, was charged with human trafficking and child prostitution.
American media said a body had been found next to a road.
Fayetteville police spokeswoman Theresa Chance was quoted as saying that officers had been searching a section of Interstate 87.
She told ABC News: "Information that we received leads us here as far as the where the body was discarded."
Police have been searching for Shaniya since she disappeared from a mobile home community in Fayetteville on Tuesday.

She was last seen in CCTV footage which appears to show her being carried by a man in the corridor of a hotel in Sanford, about 40 miles from Fayetteville.
According to arrest documents quoted in The Fayetteville Observer, Antoinette Davis "knowingly provide(d) Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude" and she "permit(ted) an act of prostitution".
The CCTV footage is thought to show a 29-year-old man named Mario Andrette McNeill carrying Shaniya into a room.
He has been arrested and charged with kidnapping.
Shaniya had only been living with her mother since October after being raised by her father.

I just feel absolutly sick.

Once the child that ***** is expecting, is born, take her and deliver her to a family who really likes children and treat the newly born child with all the love she deserves.

Poor Shaniya - her biological father was just on CNN - the child had been living with him when the pscho person who calls herself a mother, decided she wanted to try to be Shaniya's mother - she had held a job for 6 months, had a place to live - so her father decided to allow the mother to take the child. He wanted his child to have a relationship with her mother. Unfortunate decision and one he'll regret for the rest of his life, I'm sure.

I saw the news as well about Shaniya. Rest in peace angel. You are loved and protected now in spirit.

There needs to be a serious psychological study of this woman and a serious look at the child care system there.

This doesn't just happen. The system failed this little girl completely. I don't believe that a rational person just does this. I wonder if her mother also grew up in the system.

I want answers....

I suspect this woman is a druggie, and as such the father should NEVER have left her alone with the child. But he probably never dreamed in his wildest dream that she would sell her daughter to a paedophile who would murder her. I believe there is more to this story, that will come out either in court, or before hand, concerning the mother and the deal she made. The clue will be was the girl killed accidentally or intentionally/planned.

Also, Bluj, does North Carolina have the child rape laws that allow the death penalty for the rape of a child that results in death? At the least both the mother and the rapist are probably looking at life in gaol, but if the mother knew what was going to happen (ie the child would be silenced) then she could face death as well. Does NC have the death penalty?

And Pedro, this woman is going to be in gaol for a very long time, and she will not be allowed to keep her baby in gaol with her.

The Supreme Court struck down the death penalty for child rape laws.

She wouldn't have fit under them anyway though, because they were so narrowly tailored to try and pass Constitutional muster.

But they could charge her with conspiracy to commit murder or something like that. North Carolina does have the death penalty.

Thank you for that. I am not a big believer in the death penalty, but where it does exist, I like to see it used for child murderers, particularly for pre meditated murders and for child rapists that kill their victims.

I have lit a candle as well, and I also share your feelings on how tragic this is.

For child rapists, murderers, I believe the death penalty should be enforced - Canada does NOT have the death penalty but I wish we did for paedophiles.

We dont have it either, but our nearest neighbour Indonesia does, and we currently have a number of Aussies on death row for transporting heroin. Not the ringleaders, just drug mules. On the other hand, they executed the Bali bombers.

My problem with the death penalty, is what if you get the wrong person. What if Portugal had the death penatly and Jaoa and Lenore were put to death for the murder of Joanna, when it looks to be a miscarriage of justice and there is no proof that Joanna is even dead.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police in North Carolina say a man already accused of kidnapping a 5-year-old girl also raped and asphyxiated her.
Authorities said Thursday night that first-degree murder and child rape charges are being filed against Mario McNeill, the man accused of taking Shaniya Davis from her Fayetteville home. Her body was found Monday after a search that lasted nearly a week.

The girl's mother, Antoinette Davis, is charged with trafficking her daughter and child abuse involving prostitution.

A search warrant says a man charged with kidnapping a 5-year-old North Carolina girl who was later found dead told police he took the girl to the hotel where she was last seen alive.

It's the unbelievers that continue the cycle of child abuse. When will people understand that disbelief kills.
Multiple media reported the search warrant says 29-year-old Mario McNeill told investigators he took Shaniya (shuh-NY-uh) Davis last week from her home in Fayetteville to a hotel in Sanford, about 35 miles away.

The girl's body was found Monday off a road near Sanford.

Antoinette Davis is charged with trafficking her daughter and child abuse involving prostitution.

Police say they collected hair and fibers, clothes, and a straw from McNeill's 1997 Mitsubishi Galant.
Police said Wednesday no additional charges will be filed until jurisdiction questions are resolved.

Why did he kill her? Raping is horrendous, but to take the life of an innocent child, just beggars belief. If he did it to stop her talking, then he was just plain stupid as well as callous and evil, because he will probably be put to death for this, whereas if he raped her and left her alive, he probably would have only gong to gaol for a period of time and then been released.

Truly evil.
