DETECTIVES are to question a Scottish suspect over the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Private investigators working for the McCanns have confirmed that they want to question the man, who is currently awaiting trial for murder and child sex offences in Barlinnie prison in Glasgow. Already wanted by Spanish police in connection with the disappearance of a German boy, the man was spotted by a prison officer at Barlinnie due to his likeness to a pencil sketch of the chief Maddie suspect.

The insider said: “This man looks like the Maddie suspect drawing that has been in the papers.

“He is also well known to have spent a lot of time in the Spanish region – staff at the prison want the investigation team to speak to him.”

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, operated a cleaning firm for Spanish holiday homes [Rainbow Cleaning Services] when Maddie vanished in May 2007.

He is currently accused of murdering a 40-year-old woman from Ayrshire with an accomplice, reportedly because the pair feared she would report them for child sex abuse.

The woman went missing from Largs more than a decade ago, and the body has never been found.

Clarence Mitchell, spokesman for the McCanns, confirmed that investigators were trying to contact the man.

He said: “The investigators currently searching for Madeleine are aware of this man and they do want to speak to him.

“Any credible information they receive is, of course, followed up as top priority.”

Both men face further charges of sex abuse against children, child pornography and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Charged for a second time after the initial evidence was ruled insufficient, both lived in the Canary Islands and in Costa Blanca until being charged again last year.

The Civil Guard and Scotland Yard investigating two Scottish paedophiles who worked in a company cleaning apartments in the south of the island of Gran Canaria as suspects in the disappearance of Yéremi Vargas. A former boxer and his cousin, with a criminal record and who are now in prison for having allegedly killed the mother of one of their victims, are qualified by the British police as "high-risk sex offenders."
The case Yéremi still alive, despite having already passed 17 months. Suspicions about the disappearance of children in Neighborhood are directed now towards the Scots Charles O'Neill, a 46-year-old retired boxer, and his cousin William Lauchlan, 31. According Interviú published this week, both were at that time on the island working in the company Rainbow Cleaning Services, which specializes in cleaning houses, apartments, bungalows and local gay tourism on the coast.
Scotland Yard sent the Spanish police about thirty sexual aggressors that could be linked to the case, but that list now boils down to these two Scots, who in late 2006 left their country after completing a sentence for abusing six children.

Im trying to find this cleaning service online,but so far no joy........im disgusted yet again that the article you posted is dated as sept 2008..........Scotland yard sends info to police and yet again this guy gets away???WHY???

Charles o'neil is still not jailed for a murder that occurred a decade ago.And also other child sex offenses.He is the one that Portuguese police allowed to go when the privates tried to follow him.He had a year in order to get rid of any evidence against him.Im wondering when the privates were told to leave Portugal and stop following him to.

The point is this one seams to like boys only.
Of course he could kidnap Madeleine to sell her to another person ...
But all the other "suspects" could have done that also ....

Is that right? I seem to have missed that information somehow.
