Natascha Kampusch - was her mother behind her abduction?

An ex-judge called Martin Wabl has been saying for a long, long time that Natascha Kampusch's mother, Brigitta Sirny, partly organised her abduction.

It has now gone to court and Natascha had to give a statement, in which she said that Martin Wabl was wrong.

Wabl says that Sirny had something to do with sexual abuse of her daughter and he said that she also had planned the abduction with others. There is, however, no evidence of this.

Many witnesses have made statements against Sirny, including her ex-partner (Natascha's dad) Ludwig Koch. Koch has always said that he doesn't want to pick on Sirny, he just wants the truth. He said he doesn't know if she was in on the abduction, but he wouldn't say she definitely wasn't. He said things have happened that make him suspicious.

Koch also admits to giving Sirny a false alibi after their daughter disappeared because otherwise the police "wouldn't have let her go home again".

The neighbour also had damming evidence. She is convinced that Sirny and her ex-boyfriend Ronald H (they don't tend to write the surnames of people in the paper here) knew Priklopil (the kidnapper). She said she saw all three of them together. Someone else (high up in some commerce chamber) said that when they asked her to her face if she knew something about the kidnapping, she said "yes and started crying."

One of the (many) theories is that she was taken away to cover up the fact she was being abused. Some strange photos of Natascha were found in Sirny's flat. Sexual abuse though has never been proven.

that he didn't see Natascha Kampusch as a victim and that maybe Priklopil did her a favour putting her in a cellar for 8 years, because she comes from a dysfunctional family. He reckons the only person who was nice to her was Priklopil - the abductor. According to Natascha Kampusch, Priklopil didn't let her out of the cellar for the first 6 months, he didn't even turn the light on when she first got there, he wouldn't buy enough food to feed her in case people noticed he was buying more than usual (she weighed about the same at 18 as she did at 10), he beat her up until she could hardly walk and kept her a prisoner. That is what Ecolab thinks is being nice to her is? With that screwed up logic he just fits into Vile's bunch perfectly.

Read in a news magazine today about Priklopil's mother. She has had to go into hiding and change her identity. Apparently the press used to spend a lot of time at her son's grave and then follow her back to her flat to try and reveal to everyone who she is. How low can you get?

The police didn't tell her at first why they wanted to speak to her. They said they were looking for her son because he had been speeding. She told them to go to Strasshof, where he lived. When they took her with them to the police station (having declared the real reason) they took a photo of her and showed it to Natascha who confirmed she had never seen her before. The mum was talking about little signs that showed a woman had been there, but that she had just thought he had been out and picked up a woman or women.

What a mess. She has lost her son twice - once when he died and once when she found out she didn't actually know him at all.
